The competitive program is for divers who wish to concentrate on the further development of their diving and engage in regular competitions.
Divers enrolled in this program may compete in Tier II and Tier I competitions as determined by their current dive level and dive standards. Tier ll divers may compete at Provincial and National Tier ll dive meets. Tier l divers may compete at Provincial meets and may go on to the National and International stage upon meeting or surpassing the qualifying standards as set by Dive Plongeon Canada.
Involvement in the Competitive Program includes dry-land training sessions which include dive specific exercises and skills, conditioning, strength training, and work on the trampoline. We have recently opened a dry-land training area where we have an Olympic size trampoline, harness, twisting belt and mats, thereby allowing us to provide high quality training to compliment the pool time. Our pool time training offers 1 and 3 meter springboard as well as 5, 7.5 and 10 meter platform.
We offer as many as 8 practice times or sessions per week for our Competitive divers. Enrolment in this program allows the diver to attend as many practices as they wish. Registration and event fees for dive meets are an additional cost to the cost of registration in this program.
Also, parents (or guardians) must commit to assist the Club in our fundraising efforts and events throughout the season. These include attending our bingo nights and assistance at our annual dive meet which we host.
